a brief history of funky junque:

The love for Junque has gotten Kriss LeCocq the business dream of a lifetime!

The business started in the family's small home and garage in Moorhead, MN four years ago.  She continued her business when her family moved to a larger home in Hawley, MN, and she then expanded it to an entire store - back in Moorhead once again!

The true beginnings of the dream really began over four years ago....  As a daycare provider looking for a way to relax, Kriss would often flee to the ultimate (for her) destination... a flea market!  With her love for unique home décor, she found that she had a knack for selecting interesting items and giving them new life - most times as something completely different than what the original manufacturers had in mind!

Before long, she (and friends & family) would go "junquing", work their magic, and put it all up in Kriss’ home - where it would disappear at periodic shows. That story still continues today, but on a much larger scale.  Kriss’ passion for decorating, love for vintage items, and skill at weaving them together to create unique and functional home decorations add up to great design at affordable prices.

A store was always a dream for Kriss, but she also liked the show concept, so she decided to put them both together - which is why there is now a funky, one-of-a-kind, must-visit store (with periodic shows) called "Funky Junque"!
